Already?
In October of 2008, David began attending Skane School (SS)-just two weeks shy of his third birthday. The transition from Connecticut's Birth To Three Program into SS was very seemless. David is now in a much more social environment and a real classroom setting; Pre-K they call it.

There were a few schools that we looked into, before finally chosing the SS Program. Their curriculum is very strong, with a low student-to-teacher ratio.

We were genuinely pleased with our first class session. There was story time, sing-along time, and the very popular snack time. The games invloved each child, and more importantly gave each student a chance to respond without feeling rushed.

Also, we noticed that there was a greater amount of children with food allergies. At snacktime, most treats were peanut, gluten, and diary free. This was very reassuring for us, since David is extremely allergic to peanuts.

We also meet with the school nurse and reviewed David's medical history, along with the allergies. Gym teacher was great also, one very motivating gentleman.

All-in-all, it was a very informative day. Something we are all looking forward to for years to come. We see it as a bunch of meaningful play dates with children from all over the area.
